On-Campus Technology

Manhattan Christian College provides students with a wireless campus. Students can work on assignments and access the Internet and email from the residence halls, classroom buildings, Campus Center, and Library.

Because this technology is available, MCC strongly recommends students have a wireless enabled laptop when coming to school. Minimally, a desktop computer is essential for all college students. The wireless technology is also available for students with desktops, but to experience all the features of a wireless campus, a laptop is essential! MCC is currently a PC campus. Many students on campus do have Apple computers (MACs), but on-campus tech support may be limited. Technology details for Online and Distance students.

MCC also recommends the following minimum software packages for students:

• Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Windows 7
• Microsoft Office 2007 (Home & Student edition)
• Antivirus protection is required to participate on the wireless network. Subscription expiration dates for definition updates must extend beyond the current semester (no trial software allowed). There are several free tools available as well (AVG, Panda, etc.)

College students may purchase software and hardware at educational prices at many online vendors as well as several local vendors including Walmart, Hastings, Staples, and Varney's Bookstores.
