TITLE:    Next Generation Minister (NGM)
OVERSIGHT:   Oversee our next generation ministries, birth through 12th      grade, with an emphasis on children’s ministries
START DATE:  ASAP
LENGTH:   Permanent
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time
PAY RATE:   Salaried.  Negotiable; commensurate with experience
BENEFITS: Paid vacation.  Mileage.  Limited continuing education and/or professional development conferences, conventions, workshops, etc.  Moving expenses—to be negotiated.

DESCRIPTION:

West Lafayette Christian Church (WLCC) is currently seeking a Next Generation Minister (NGM) to join our ministry team.  The NGM will be responsible for the development of team members, plans, strategies and events to minister to the next generation in our church and community.  The NGM will oversee, develop and expand all of our next generation ministries, birth through 12th grade, with an emphasis on children’s ministries.

WLCC, a church of 250 members, is located in West Lafayette, Indiana, near Purdue University.  West Lafayette has a population of 30,000+.  Adjacent Lafayette has a population of 68,000.  Tippecanoe County has a population of 177,000+.  Three school districts serve our county.  There are approximately 60 children and teens in the church.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:
• Age-related experience in a church (preferred), including significant internship(s), or an educational setting
• Positive evaluations and work references from past experiences
• Proven leadership & management skills
• A minimum of a Bachelors degree (upon start date)
PREFERRED:
• Ordained
• Bible College or Seminary degree
• Experience in developing and leading children’s and/or teens’ ministry

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Build a NexGen Ministry Team (NGMT)—recruit, train, equip, support, mentor & oversee volunteer staff and student leadership
• Oversee & support all NexGen programs & activities—including, but not limited to, Nursery, Toddler’s & Children’s Worship, Bible Fellowship (Children’s & Teens’), weekly meetings, discipleship groups, special events, Summer Sonshine, summer camps & conferences
• Pioneer new ministries
• Implement Child Protection policy
• Oversee and facilitate weekly activities, outreach events and community service or mission projects for the various groups
• Participate in Ministry Team, Elders’ & Staff meetings; and life of the church
• Network with area youth ministers
• Pastoral duties related to the overall life & health of the church as needed and appropriate
• Whatever is necessary and prudent for healthy children & youth ministries

PRINCIPLE RELATIONSHIPS:

• Minister to NGMT
• Supervise NGMT
• Minister to church’s next generation and their families
• Coordinate, communicate and cooperate with other Ministry Teams and staff
• Report to the Senior Minister
• Accountable to the Senior Minister and elders
