Goals of Oakley Christian Church
To evangelize new families and strengthen those who already attend Oakley Christian Church. We want to connect, grow, and serve. We can do this by dedication to discipling, mentoring, training, teaching, and small group development.
Oakley, Kansas
There are new families coming to Oakley due to many things , including oil discoveries (industrializing), ethanol plant, Northwest Kansas Education Service Center, and the lure of raising children in a small, cozy community. Our elementary school received the National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2009. We have two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. We are strategically located off I-70 and Highway 83. We are just 3 1/2 hours via Interstate driving from Denver, Colorado.
Recent History of Oakley Christian Church
Approximately 50 people left our congregation on October 14, 2012 and as a result, our average age is much younger. We are attractive to new younger couples, being demonstrated by their attendance and involvement. Our facilities include a main church building that houses the sanctuary with ample room for growth, several classrooms off the sanctuary, a nice foyer, an educational center that houses office, library, and several more classrooms, a nursery, a youth room, a kitchen and large meeting area that can be sectioned off for classrooms, all under one roof.
We also have a youth building ideally located and accessible, two blocks south of the public school on Main Street. “The Cave” is dedicated to all forms of youth programs, youth fellowships, Bible studies, and community outreach events. Approximately 70% of attending children at our Bible clubs and youth groups are from other churches or non-church families. This is an excellent evangelistic outreach tool.
