Memorial Church of Christ, an independent Christian church congregation of approximately 300 families located in Livonia, Michigan, is seeking a full-time youth minister.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to:
1) provide spiritual guidance for middle-school and high-school students,
2) develop and oversee programs that encourage involvement and provide the opportunity for youth to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
3) develop relationships with youth in order to train and motivate them for a lifetime of service to Jesus Christ, and
4) recruit adults to serve as youth ministry leaders.
In addition, the youth minister is expected to develop a long-term vision for youth ministry at Memorial Church of Christ, oversee curriculum selection, teach classes, provide opportunities for youth to serve both inside and outside the church body, and communicate regularly with students, parents, and the church board.
The requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (Master's degree desirable), experience working in a youth ministry program, a growing commitment to Christ including a strong biblical foundation, and theological compatibility with Memorial Church of Christ. In addition, we are seeking a servant-leader who has an attested call to youth ministry, is committed to team ministry, and who is committed to developing positive and growing relationships with youth, pastoral staff, volunteers, and parents.
