The Worship/Creative Arts Pastor is responsible for the Creative Arts & Worship Ministries of a growing and missionally minded faith community. The Arts Pastor will be the leader and mentor for all creative types involved in Legacy’s Creative Arts Ministry including instrumentalists, vocalist, actors, dancers, photographers, graphic artists, production team volunteers (sound, lighting, and presentation managers) as well as all other volunteers involved in creating a warm and safe worship environment.
Candidate must be a person of integrity, have a heart for worship and understand the heart of the artist. Candidate should be passionate, engaging with good charisma and possess an enthusiastic approach to leading worship. Candidate must be able to lead the worship team from either the guitar or piano with strong vocal skills. Candidate will be technically minded, leadership-focused, and willing to work in a team environment.
Weekend worship gatherings at Legacy include current worship music from Christian Artists, as well as hymns with modern instrumentation and arrangement. “Popular” or “mainstream” secular radio songs that tie in or relate to that weeks message will be used to kick off all weekend services. A typical worship team would consist of 2-4 vocalists, an acoustic guitar, 1-2 electric guitars, bass guitar, 1-2 keyboards, drums, and other occasional instrumentation such as horns, congas, cajons, and violins as well.
The goal of the Creative Arts Ministry at Legacy Christian Church is to create a safe and relational environment for both the weekly attender as well as varying types of artists that make up the ministry so that all may experience God through the use of all artistic mediums. Ideally this is accomplished through the use of original video vignettes, graphic designs, dramas, spoken word pieces and other art forms to elevate the worship experience.
