Job Title: Children’s Ministry Pastor/Director
Statement of Purpose:
The Children’s Ministries Pastor/Director is responsible for the development and
implementation of the vision, strategy and tactical elements for all programs, activities and
educational aspects related to Children’s Ministry at Bible Christian Church. Specifically, the
Children’s Ministries Pastor/Director is responsible for weekend services, Awana, VBS, and
Reporting Relationship:
• Reports to Executive Youth Minister
• Works closely with all areas of ministries within Bible Christian Church.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or experience in related area.
A. Core Duties:
To provide leadership to the Children’s Ministries team:
• Helps to develop and implement the vision for children’s ministries in collaboration
with the Supervisor and Elders.
• Provides strategic leadership and planning.
• Recruits, sets direction and trains volunteers.
• Offers encouragement of volunteers.
• Develops processes necessary for effective operations (e.g.: check-in).
• Responsible for budget and financial oversight.
B. Administrative Duties:
• Oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum.
• Develop communication plans to keep staff, volunteers and parents informed.
• Responsible for all volunteer staffing (including training).
• Manage communications between ministries that interact with children ministry.
• Develop and implement all safety and security processes in cooperation with the
church’s safety and security policies.
• Oversee and implement all programming.
• Coordinate family events and camps for parents and families.
C. Personal Duties:
• Ability to fully embrace the vision, mission and belief statements of faith of Bible
Christian Church.
• Build a Children’s Ministry Volunteer Team
• Understand and to keep current on issues related to safety and security resulting in the
implementation of associated activities and safeguards.
• Attend staff meetings and all church activities as part of the staff team.
• Agree and adhere to the BCC Policy Manual.
Conditions of Employment:
It is understood that the call to the Children’s Ministry Pastor/Director of Bible Christian
Church is for an indefinite period of time. It is the desire of the leadership that all staff
come for long ministries. We believe that God uniquely blesses long-term ministries. We
recognize, however, that there are times when ministers are called by God to new fields
of service. In that case, this current agreement may be terminated by the Children’s
Ministry Pastor/Director or by a decision of the elders of the Church. In either case, at
least 30 (thirty) days written notice shall be given unless a different period of time is
mutually agreed upon.
