Manhattan, Kan. – Manhattan Christian College men's soccer team got their first win of the season, beating Faith Eagles 5-0 at home. Coming off a good performance in their season opener. MCC was eager for a victory. It took MCC 22 minutes to break the deadlock when freshman forward Eric Hall scored. Seventeen minutes later MCC got their second goal. Freshman midfielder Sam Cha neatly placed the ball in the back of the net off the assist from Joshua Dickie to extend the lead. The Eagles gifted MCC a three goal advantage by means of a own goal in the 42 minute to see MCC to a 3-0 halftime lead.
One minute after the restart the Eagles scored another own goal off a cross from Cha to give MCC a 4-0 lead. Several chances were squandered in the second half by MCC to extend their lead. It took sophomore forward Joshua Dickie the last kick of the game to score MCC's fifth goal. Senior captain Brandon Branscom intercepted a pass from the Eagles to neatly play Dickie in with 8 seconds left on the clock. Dickie placed the ball in the back of the net with a low right foot shot to end the game 5-0.
Next up MCC, (1-0-1 Overall) travel to Belton, MO to play Calvary Bible College on Tuesday, September 10. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
