The Manhattan Christian College men's basketball team won their sixth consecutive road game by defeating Union College 95-69. With the victory Head Coach Shawn Condra earned his 400th victory in his 20th season at MCC.
MCC got off to a blazing start in the first half, shooting 65.5% from the field and 75% from the three-point line. Sage Ruis was a key contributor to the strong start as he scored 24 points in the opening half going 9 for 10 from the field, 3 for 3 from the three-point line and 3 for 3 from the free throw line as the Crusaders raced to a 50-36 halftime lead. MCC was able to stretch the lead quickly in the second half as they opened the half on a 32-6 run to open up an 82-42 lead. From there MCC cruised to the win. Ruis finished with 26 points, Lonnie Penner scored 18 points while Alex Hammack and Will Chisam each chipped in with 11 points.
Condra is now 400-244 in his career. Under his direction MCC has won twelve regular season conference championships, six conference tournament championships, two regional championships and the Crusaders have appeared in ten National Tournaments.
The Crusaders will return home for the first time in over a month this weekend as they host region rival Grace University (Omaha, NE) on Friday night at 7:30pm and then top ten NCCAA II foe Hillsdale College (Moore, OK) on Saturday at 2:00pm at the City Auditorium.
