After having their six game winning streak snapped on Friday nigth, MCC had a matchup with Hillsdale College, the #7 ranked team in the NCCAA II, and MCC was able to rebound from their poor play on Friday night to claim a 87-79 victory. MCC got off to a strong start in the first half holding the Saints to 28% shooting from the field, but MCC was only able to gain a 41-33 halftime lead. In the second half MCC held a 50-42 lead, and Hillsdale responded with a 10-0 run to take the lead. From there Hillsdale would hold on to a slim lead, but with under five minutes left and MCC trailing 71-67 the Crusaders responded with an 8-0 run to go up 75-71. MCC never allowed Hillsdale to get closer than four points down the stretch and they held on for the victory. Ruis led MCC with 27 points and Chisam had his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
MCC is now 15-8 on the year and they will be back in action at home on Friday night at 7:30pm against Ozark Christian College in key Midwest Christian College Conference game.
