The MCC volleyball team overcame adversity to advance to the NCCAA National Semi-Finals on Saturday. With seven players suffering from food poisoning the team had to make some adjustments in their first match of the day against Providence University College. Despite having to adjust their normal rotation MCC was able to come away with the 25-20, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20 victory. In their final match in pool play MCC had all the players back, but they weren't 100% healthy. The team was able to rise to the challenge and knocked off the top seed, Kentucky Christian University, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.
With the victories MCC finished in first place in their pool and will take on the second place team from pool B, Clearwater Christian College. Clearwater has won six straight NCCAA National Championships and seven of the last eight. The match will take place at 10:00am and MCC will be looking to advance to the NCCAA National Championship match for the first time in school history.
