Student
Financial Assistance
General
Information
Students applying
for financial assistance should follow the steps outlined in the LEAD information packet.
Students should
request financial aid as soon as possible, but at least four to six
weeks prior to the registration/orientation date. Early application
will result in your financial aid eligibility being determined in a
timely manner.
Students must:
1. Complete MCC’s Application for Financial
Aid on the back side of the Application for Admission and return
to the LEAD Office.
2. Complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and mail to the
Director of Financial Aid at Manhattan Christian College along with
a signed copy of your Federal tax return. A Student Aid Report will
be sent by the Central Processor to the student. MCC will send the student
a notification of awards.
Please note: Verification may be required of a student's federal aid application;
therefore, students are urged to complete the FAFSA at their earliest
opportunity and submit it along with a signed copy of their most recent
tax return to the MCC Financial Aid Office for electronic transmission
of the FAFSA.

Types
of Federal Financial Assistance
- FEDERAL PELL
GRANT. The Federal Pell Grant is provided by the federal government
and administered by Manhattan Christian College. The amount awarded
is based upon demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This grant is a gift
and is not repaid. Pell grant will be credited to the student's account
at enrollment or when the federal process is complete.
- LOAN ASSISTANCE.
Many students supplement their resources for college expenses with
funds from the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Eligibility
for the Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan is based upon demonstrated
need as determined by the FAFSA. The maximum amount available to borrowers
in the LEAD Program is $2750 per semester. The Federal
Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, of $2750 per semester, is available to
students who do not qualify for the subsidized loan. If students have
additional borrowing needs, they should contact the Financial Aid
Office for further information.
- VETERAN’S BENEFITS.
VA benefits are available to eligible veterans and in some cases their
dependents. Eligibility is determined by the Veterans Administration.
Potentially eligible students should contact their local education
officer, local Veterans Administration Office, or call 1-800-827-1000.
- TUITION ASSISTANCE
(TA). TA benefits may be available to active duty military personnel.
The application process to determine availability of TA benefits begins
with the education center serving the soldier's unit.
