The Grace Royals came to Manhattan and ended the Crusaders six game winning streak, with a 75-69 victory. Grace who extended their win streak to seven with the victory, took control in the first half going on a 10-0 run to take a 31-23 lead. At halftime Grace had expanded their lead to 40-29 lead. A key to their first half performance was ten offensive rebounds.
In the second half MCC fought their way back to a 50-48 deficit only to see Grace respond with another run to take a 59-48 lead. The Crusader's fought their way back again with a 10-1 run to close the deficit to 60-58. However when MCC had a possesion to tie the game, Grace came up with a steal and layup to keep MCC at bay. That is the way the rest of the game would play out as each time MCC would close the gap Grace would respond with a solid play and they finished off the 75-69 win. This is the second straight game that Grace has defeated MCC in Manhattan, the first time was last year in the Regional Championship Game. Spencer Plank led Grace with 18 points, while Sage Ruis led MCC with 17 points and Will Chisam added 13 points and 6 rebounds.
MCC will be back in action Saturday at 2:00pm against Hillsdale who was ranked #7 in the latest NCCAA II poll.
