The Flint Hills Masterworks Chorale will perform with the KSU Orchestra on an all-Czech concert. Music to be performed will be by Dvorak (Te Deum & Slavonic Dances, Op. 46, Nos. 1, 2, 4, 8), Martinů (Memorial to Lidice), and Smetana (Three Dances from The Bartered Bride). The concert will be held at McCain Auditorium, and there is no admission charge.
The Flint HIlls Masterworks Chorale is a community choir sponsored by MCC and this semester has approximately 75 members. Dr. Yu Oppenheim, co-director of the Kansas State University's choral studies, is the director. The featured works on this concert will be Te Deum by Dvorak, Christmas Oratorio by Saint-Saens, and Many Moods of Christmas, Suite Four, arranged by Shaw and Bennett. Held at K-State's All Faith Chapel, there is no admission charge, but donations to help defray expenses of the performance are welcome.
Come and join the conversation. The purpose of this conference is to promote research, discussion, and academic fellowship on issues relating to the Christian faith. This year's theme "The Bible in a Post-Literate Culture" will help us explore the challenges of preaching and teaching to people who don't read books.
