The Flint Hills Masterworks 20th Anniversary Concert is Tuesday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Ave. The featured works for the evening will be Requiem Mass in C Minor by Cherubini, Aesop's Fables by Chilcott, and other selections.
Conducted by Dr. Reginald Pittman, director of opera studies at Kansas State University, and accompanied by Mary Ann Buhler, this 70+ voice community chorale is a member of the Manhattan Area Arts and Humanities Coalition and is sponsored by Manhattan Christian College. Admission to the concert is free and a reception will follow.
Currently the chorale is planning a trip for June 2015 to the Baltic Countries. They plan to sing in cathedrals in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, befroe spending a few days in St. Petersburg, Russia. Interested in going with them? You don't have to sing to participate.
