Ben Lister is entering his third season as the head coach for the Manhattan Christian College Lady Crusaders and associate athletic director for the school. Coach Lister has led Manhattan to a 44-23 record in his first two season as head coach. In his first season, MCC went 27-7 marking the third highest single season win total in the women’s program.
In his first two seasons, Coach Lister has led the Lady Crusaders to back-to-back Midwest Christian College Conference regular season championships, going undefeated in conference over that time. He also led MCC to the tournament championship in his first year. During the 05-06 season, MCC finished as the Central Region Champions, where Coach Lister was named Central Region Coach of the Year. The Lady Crusaders finished the 05-06 season by placing third at the NCCAA II National Championship. It is the second highest finish in school history. MCC finished second in the region in 06-07
The three years prior to MCC, Coach Lister was at Sunrise Christian Academy where he served as an assistant on the men’s varsity team and was head junior varsity coach. The teams compiled a 76-28 record during his stay including a Tri-State Conference Championship. He also spent three years as the head women’s varsity coach at Flint Hills Christian School. Coach Lister played two years at Manhattan Christian College in 1997-99, which included a conference title. His goal is to continue the growth of Lady Crusader basketball into a tradition of excellence for years to come. Coach Lister is a recent graduate of Wichita State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration. |
