Name: Brianna Helfrich

Position: Guard
Noteworthy News: Brianna has been a starter for DCHS the last three seasons, with this season being her most successful. As a senior, Brianna was named MVP of the Pratt Tournament of Champions. She was invited to participate in the Boot Hill Classic All-Star game as well. During her junior and senior seasons she was recognized as honorable mention for the Western Athletic Conference. She is a four year letter winner and a recipient of the 2007 All State Academic Award. Her team qualified for the 6A State Tournament. Brianna is pursuing a dual degree from Kansas State and MCC, majoring in accounting.
Coach Lister's Thoughts: Bri is part of a group of seniors that has gone from barely winning any games to making the state tournament. That alone speaks volumes of her character and heart. She has worked extremely hard to put herself in a position to play in college, and I love the fact that she feels like she still has something to prove. Bri possesses great quickness and is a tremendous on the ball defender, and she has a great mid-range game. She can also step out and shoot the three. I can’t say enough about her as a student. She is outstanding in the classroom as she is second in her class academically at a 6A high school. Bri has a tremendous upside, and I am looking forward to seeing her growth. |
