Mason, OH -The Manhattan Christian College Crusader baseball team challenged for a World Series championship but finish the year with a 3rd place finish in the NCCAA World Series and a season record of 19-18.
In the first game, MCC defeated Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College 10-4 behind the complete game performance of Mike Foster. Travis Myers led the offensive attack with a three run home run in the third innings that led a five run inning. Codi Morris, Joe Rubeo and Codi Burrow each added two hits to support the effort.
Game two found the Crusaders again fall to the defending World Series champions from Toccoa Falls College 7-2. Mike Foster had three hits to lead MCC but it was too late as the Crusaders closed their season with their fourth straight Central Region Championship and third straight top five finish at the NCCAA World Series.

Mason, OH - Manhattan Christian College couldn't overcome a four run first inning from defending World Series champion Toccoa Falls College (GA) and dropped their first game of the tournament 6-3 this afternoon. Travis Myers settled down after the first to throw a complete game.
The Crusaders fell to the losers bracket and rebounded to defeat Ohio Christian University 6-2 and set up a Midwest Regional rematch with Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College at 4:15 PM on Friday. With their second win, MCC assured themselves of no worst than a 4th place finish. Jeremy Philippi enjoyed a complete game win with the support of multiple hit performances from Eammon Bradley, Travis Myers and Codi Burrow.
With pitching being very important in a four day tournament, MCC has enjoyed three complete game performances thus far from Brandon Roth, Travis Myers, and Jeremy Philippi to keep their staff prepared for a strong run at the finish.

Mason, OH - Manhattan Christian College won their first game in the NCCAA World Series today in Mason, OH behind winning pitcher Brandon Roth who picked up his 7th win of the year. After surviving a shaky start, he held the Eagles scoreless for the last five innings. The Crusaders broke the game open in the bottom of the 5th when Codi Morris drove in two with a double and Mike Foster, Travis Myers and Codi Burrow followed with RBI hits to give them five for the inning and the 7-3 victory.
Next action for MCC is 1 PM Thursday against Toccoa Falls College (GA) - the 2009 National Champions.

Moore, OK - The Manhattan Christian College baseball team made it four regional titles in a row with a 12-10 victory over Ozark Christian College in the NCCAA Regional Championships on Saturday in Moore, OK. Bryan Kloppe picked up the win with relief from Mike Foster as the Crusaders held on to earn a trip to Cincinnati, OH on May 12-15 for a chance at a National Championship. The Crusaders jumped on top early thanks to a 3-run double from Josh Garcia in the first inning. Mike Foster and Kodey Rudge also collected 2 hits as the Crusaders completed the tournament without a lost.
On Friday, MCC backed up their number one seeding in the first day of the NCCAA Regional Champions with a 4-2 victory over Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College. MCC was led by the 6-hit complete game performance on the mound from Brandon Roth. In the top of the 6th Hillsdale tied the game at 2-2. In the bottom of the 6th, after two outs, Eammon Bradley singled, Codi Morris tripled, and Mike Foster singled to end the 6th with the Crusaders leading 4-2 which was the eventual ending score.
The Crusaders began the season ranked at #3 in the nation and will almost certainly be seeded in the top three. More information will become available in the upcoming days.

St. Louis, MO - The MCC baseball team dropped a pair of games to Tabor College on Monday by the scores of 10-3 and 9-3. This was the last game for the Crusaders prior to their Regional Tournament this weekend in Moore, OK. The Crusaders enter the tournament with a 14-14 record and the number one seed. They will play the winner of the Hillsdale vs. Ozark game on Friday. The winner of this tournament will advance to the National Championships in Cincinnati, OH on May 12 -15.

St. Louis, MO - Manhattan Christian College split their weekend series with St. Louis Christian College on Saturday with St. Louis taking game one 4-2 and MCC the second game 8-7 in extra innings. The Crusaders scored all 8 runs after the 5th inning to claim the victory. Josh Garcia led off the bottom of the 8th with a single, then Anthony Bosch sacrificed Brandon Roth to second before Kodey Rudge drove in the winning run with a double to rightfield. The Crusaders are now 14-12 on the year and go on the road to take on Tabor College today.

Manhattan, KS - MCC took game one of the four game series with Ozark Christian College this last weekend thanks to the 4-hit game of Eammon Bradley and 3-hit game of Travis Myers. MCC earned all it needed for starter Brandon Roth by scoring 3 times in the first inning.
MCC also took game time behind the complete game of Travis Myers and his 2 hits to go along with Bradley's 3. The Crusaders scored all they need in the first inning as they plated 3.
Game one on Saturday saw many defensive breakdowns early for the Crusaders resulting in a wild 19-16 loss, but they almost came back for the victory with the potential tying run at the plate when the final out was made.
MCC won the series by winning game four and closed out the weekend with Ozark Christian College with a 11-0 run-rule game which saw Bryan Kloppe pick up the win with a two-hitter behind the three RBI support of both Codi Morris and Joe Rubeo.
MCC is now 13-11 on the year and with this series win and assured themselves of the #1 seed in the NCCAA Regional tournament to be held in Moore, OK on April 30 and May 1.

Manhattan, KS - It took a two out diving catch by centerfielder Codi Morris to preserve the win, but MCC held off Hillsdale College for a 5-4 win in game one on Friday and preserve a fine pitching performance of Brandon Roth. The Crusaders where led in hitting by Josh Garcia, Anthony Bosch and Kodey Rudge who each collected two hits.
In game two Friday the Crusaders cruised to a sweep with a two hit mound performance by Travis Myers and a 10-0 victory. Eammon Bradley and Corbin Graham led a 15 hit attack for the Crusaders with three hits each.
In game three MCC found itself fall behind early due to a number of fielding errors and eventually lost 8-18.
The Crusaders won game four over Hillsdale with a 13-7 victory Saturday afternoon. Freshman Jeremy Philippi pitched a complete game for his first victory of the year and Codi Morris and Joe Rubeo each collected three hits to lead the Crusaders offensive attack.
The Crusaders are now 9-9 on the year and will host Central Christian College for two games Tuesday beginning at 2 PM.

Manhattan, KS - Bethany College defeated Manhattan Christian College 19-5 today. The Swedes scored 7 runs in first inning and never looked back in route to an easy victory in Manhattan today. The lost put MCC at 6-8 on the year and will next play Hillsdale Baptist College a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 3 PM.

Joplin, MO - After getting rained out on Friday, it was a tale of two games for Manhattan Christian College on Saturday with MCC winning game one 6 -0 behind the no-hit pitching of Brandon Roth and three hit game of Codi Burrow. Game one was never in doubt as Roth was in control the whole game. Eammon Bradley and Mike Foster also collected two hits a piece.
Game two found the tides turned in a 3-2 loss as the Crusaders only got one hit. Even then they threatened to score in every inning until the fifth, but only came away with two runs. Travis Myers held OCC at bay until a two run error in the fifth turned the tables and Ozark held on for the victory.
MCC is now 6-7 on the year and will host Bethany College at 5 PM on Tuesday at Norvell Field.

Manhattan, KS - The MCC baseball team fell today Kansas Wesleyan. After a tough start where KW scored 5 in the first inning, the Crusaders fought back to get within two at 6-8 before their defense let them down and allowed several unearned runs in the loss. MCC is now 5-6 on the year and will travel to Joplin, MO to play a three game series with Ozark Christian College.

Manhattan, KS - The Manhattan Christian College Crusaders captured their first doubleheader sweep of the 2010 season with 10-5 and 17-15 victories this weekend. Eammon Bradley, Mike Foster, Travis Myers and Codi Burrow each collected two hits in game one that provided all the support Foster needed to pick up the win. Myers also collected 3 RBIs followed by Josh Garcia with two.
Game two provided much excitement with a blustery south wind and the Crusaders hung on for a 17-15 victory with Bryan Kloppe picking up the win and Myers the save. MCC scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and hung on for the victory. The big hit was a bases loaded two out double by Foster. Codi Burrow and Mike Foster each collected four hits for the game to lead the Crusaders 20 hit attack.
MCC is now 5-4 on the year. Their next home game is Wednesday (3/31) against Kansas Wesleyan.

Moore, OK - The MCC Baseball team finally resumed play with a tripleheader against the NCCAA 4th ranked Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College this weekend. After a two week weather delay and 22 cancellations the MCC Crusaders took game one 8-4 behind six strong innings from starting pitcher Brandon Roth and one inning from closer Bryan Kloppe. Offensively Codi Morris, Travis Myers, and Joe Rubeo each collected two hits to lead the Crusaders 9-hit attack.
Game two found the Crusaders jump out to a 5-0 start after two innings and then they had to hang on for the 10 inning victory 8-7. Travis Myers threw 5 innings before giving way to Kloppe and Mike Foster. Foster picked up the victory with 4 innings of outstanding relief and also drove home two runs in the top of the 10th to seal the victory. Morris also picked up two hits and Rubeo and Roth each drove home two runs.
Game three found the Crusaders again jump out to a 5-1 lead before their pitching ran out and allowed 11 runs in the last two innings of play. Rubeo led the offensive attack again with two hits and he and Foster each drove home two runs.
The Crusaders now stand at 2-3 on the year with a doubleheader this week with Tabor College at Hillsboro on Tuesday and home doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday against Presentation College.
