Additional Transfer Information
Admission Requirements
Admission requirements for transfer students include completing the application process and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for all previous college course work. Students who do not meet this requirement may be admitted on probation and be required to take our Study Seminar course.
When to Apply for Admission
When preparing your transfer to MCC, you need to apply for admissions well in advance, so the staff at MCC can ensure that your transition is smooth. If you plan on transferring in the fall here is a suggested timeline for when paperwork should be completed. You may begin the process at any time, but delays may occur if you begin late. The fall semester application deadline is July 31.

If you are currently taking courses at a college, have the college send MCC a final transcript upon completion of those courses. |
Transcript Evaluations
The transfer of credit is determined by the educational quality of the transfer institution, the comparability of content and level of credit earned, and the applicability of credit earned to MCC's degree requirements. Most academic credits submitted from any Bible accredited, regionally accredited two- or four-year college, community college, or university are accepted by MCC.
In order for a course to transfer, the final grade for that course must be a "C" or higher. A grade of "C-" or lower, will not be transferable. Courses that are transferable are finalized through the Registrar.
Admissions can do a preliminary transcript evaluation during a campus visit. To set up a campus visit call the admissions office at 1-877-246-4622 or fill out the Campus Visit Form.
Thinking About Transferring in the Future?
You may be thinking about attending MCC after attending a community college or another college to take basic courses and get your general requirements out of the way. A strong word of advice is to stay in contact with an admissions counselor at MCC to help ensure that you don't lose credits by taking courses that are not transferable or not applicable to your degree.
If you're not certain which degree you want to pursue, don't worry! More than half of MCC students change their majors at least once. The key is to begin taking courses that will apply to most degrees. By contacting an admissions counselor, they would be more than happy to provide you with a list of general requirements needed and advice in what to take.
Housing Options
One of the benefits of attending MCC is the residence hall life. MCC encourages transfer students to stay in our housing for at least one semester. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other students, be encouraged, and be strengthened your spiritual walk with Christ.
Residence Halls
If you are required to live on campus, you will be housed in the residence halls. Johnson Hall is the men's residence hall that has an occupancy of 82 people. Kenoyer Hall is the women's residence hall and has an occupancy of 108 people. The residence halls provide students with the opportunity to live in a Christian atmosphere and develop lasting relationships. The residence halls meet separately each week for praise & worship and devotions. Each student is also a part of a small discipleship group that also meets on a weekly basis. These groups involve students in accountability, prayer support, and Bible study.
Are You Required to Live in MCC Residence Halls?
Manhattan Christian College requires freshman and sophomores to live in the residence halls. You are not required to live in MCC housing if you are:
1. Living in Manhattan with your parents, or
2. Are married, or
3. Have a child(ren), or
4. Are 21 years old, or
5. Are a part-time (non-degree seeking) student, or
6. Have already been in college for two years.
What About Housing for Upper Classmen?
If you are not required to live in the residence halls you have several options. MCC has a few homes on campus that are reserved for upper classmen and transfer students. These residence halls provide space for 6 to 12 persons each and provide the feel of an apartment without a lease. You may also lease one of the many on-campus apartments that are owned by the college. If you would like more information about availability of college apartments feel free to contact the Business Office at: 785-539-3571.
If you have questions about the Residence Halls or upper classman housing options you may contact the Student Development office at: 785-539-3571.
