Weekend Fun!!
This past weekend was a blast! The whole week and weekend was spent mostly getting ready for the big Barn party. On Friday I spent it with a quality group of MCC girls. We all got together for nine rounds of Bunko at a fellow friends house. We had lots of yummy food and talked and giggled into the night. On Saturday here at MCC we had our traditional Yearly event. The Barn party. Its's a time and place where you can dress up in a crazy costume and look silly and make some great memories with your fellow classmates. People dressed up as fellow classmates, cheerleaders, soldier boi, and boy bands. You just never knew what you were going to see next walking up to the barn. There was a lot of activities going on as well throughout the night like, pumpkin carving, bull riding, best costume contest and the dancing contest that I willingly participated in. We had a special guest appearance by the one and only Solider Boi or as we know him here at MCC, Mike sullivan. I chose to be a hardcore rockstar for my costume this year. It is a night full of memories and laughter that we will always cherish. Then I spent my Sunday recovering from the eventful weekend and enjoying some quality time with my family. Sunday night we had a sweet meeting and we played a trivia game to see how well we knew one another. It was interesting to see how closely we all had paid attention to one another's like's and what not. It was a great way to end a weekend that was full of laughter and memories to warm the heart and to always look back on and cherish.
We Walked for the Cure
This weekend I spent some quality time serving with some fellow classmates. We all drove to my hometown, Wichita, and then woke up bright and early on Saturday morning and Walked For A Cure. I have a good family friend with ALS so we got a group together and went to support a fellow friend. On Friday we all ate and enjoyed the delicious food prepared by my wonderful mother. We then proceed with some after dinner festivities and play a few rounds of tennis. The boys then got lost in my neighborhood walking home and had to have a friend map quest them some directions home. I picked them up, but it was a good laugh and memory for all of us.
We all woke up on Saturday and enjoyed some exercise and some wonderful music, food and people. Some of the group ran and some of the grouped walked, but we all played our part. We got a free breakfast and got to enjoy some music from one of the original Dixie Chicks. We also met a good friend of the ALS foundation, Bonnie Bing. It was fun and exciting for the whole group.
After the walk we then watch the KU and K-State game at my house. Ashley Wheeler and I made the boys lunch and then took a power nap after all the excitement that was going on we were just worn out! K-state did not pull through like I thought they would, but they played a great game. As you can see we had a weekend full of cherished memories and laughter that we will always look back on.
